thank you seems a very good beginners guide.I have been useing my 11mtr pole for about a year now & all the pole jargon is very complicated,lines diamaters,shot,I found your guide extremly helpfull,well recommended thank you.

5 thirty pound known carp biggest about 34lb quite a few twenties not an easy water bit is well worth the effort as the fish are mint.

My friend Tim has successfully fished there, banking his best mirror to fishmeal pop-up in the margins; 29lb 10oz, he’s also had commons, and a lovely ghostie @14lb. Owner says bottom is VERY silty, but with some gravel bars. Trick seems to be, check your swims quietly, and discreetly, noise at minimum, and have your rigs ‘tight’ as the bigger fish will go for the snags like lightning.

Its a weaver fish, be careful because they are poisonous and you can end up in hospital

hi everyone, though a little late to the conversation i would like to say that for £1000 pounds the best buy would be a Preston Innovations GXR 2001 Pole. You will not get much better than that, extremely stiff, super strong and fishes superbly at 16M. It is one of the best poles launched in 2010.

Hi guys, I know that I definetly want a pole but, because of money in these difficult economic times I can only afford one less than £100 so as low as possible under that mark. Do any of you guys know of any decent all round models for that kind of price? mainly fishing for small carp, tench, bream, that kind of stuff

cheers for the tips mate,on the feeder i have only just bought i have been useing the flat bottom with elastic and had loads of success with it ,but can see were your coming from ,will ghange the set up ,regards andy
