Hi All, my name is Reeco and I`m the Development Co-ordinator for SWKA ( South Wales Kayak Anglers ) http://www.swka.org.uk
As a group of Kayak Anglers since May 07, we formalized in September 09 to become the 1st Official Kayak Angling Club of its kind. We are a friendly bunch and actively look to improve our sport and develop a network of Kayak Anglers across South Wales.
Kayak Fishing is getting very popular and has been recognised that the Kayaking element places this sport in the extreme bracket, especially when touring open sea. Safety is of vital importance to every member of the club and we actively encourage people to go out in groups rather than alone.
Our club is not an instructional club, we have no formally trained coaches and we urge all persons seeking paddling guidance to contact their local Paddle Club, which can be found in our Web Safety Section. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in Kayak Fishing and wish to join us on any of our fishing sessions throughout South Wales. http://swka.org.uk/members/members/join

Welcome
First time I have even heard of Kyak Fishing in the UK and I welcome itIf it teaches some understanding of each other then perhaps we who fish and those that float can live together instead of fighting
as we get here in Derbyshire where unfortunately there are some kyaker who thnk the river is THEIRS and then they meet some Angles who pay upto £400 a year for the privilege of fishing it
I look forward to some info on how you do it what tackle you use etc as a disabled angler I know I can't get to sit in a kayak but I can dream

Hi Mate, TYVM for the welcome. I am only speaking for myself here, coming from a fly fishing game background, I would never paddle my kayak through a run, pool or swim as the bank angler could have spent a lot of money, time and effort to fish the place they want, only for me to paddle my yak through the water he wants to fish and ruin his session, to me that's sacrilege, I would not like it done to me.
Regarding Disabled Anglers, Anglers Afloat in conjunction with the local sports development office organise and support a yearly Disability Day at Llangorse Lake in Brecon

it's on June 26th 2010
