used to fish mcgregors a lot when i wasnt baliffing it, lots of good fish ,carp to 20lb and tench to 7lb but now i hear the council has netted it and the fish have gone to holmgate and the smithy pond both clay x waters ,and i also hear now the council have flogged off the fish they are going to rent the pond to the nags head pub at birdholme. so thats sodded us up for free fishing, thats what i heard but there are still fish in there.
but not had many out lately ,mind you not had my tackle out since crimbo.

best of luck if you want to fish it

Fished this pond last saturday with a cracking result... Just started up in the last 8 months and was most grateful of all the local lads who were walking round during the day offering me advice. At the end of the sesion i had 22 tench and 2 decent sized perch, and for a novice i didnt think that was bad.... The pond is only shallow but there has been a lot of work carried out on it and it looks in pretty good nick... For £3 for a day ticket i dont think you can go far wrong!! One of the lads i was talking to said he had saw a 22lb carp pulled out a week or so ago, so not all the big fish went to clay cross. There are also a few trout now in the pond as a result of the floods in 2007. Well worth a day out in my opinion
