Clay Cross AA fisheries

This club has 2 waters

Meadow Farm Pond and Wingerworth Lido

Meadow Farm is accessed from Clay Lane, Clay Cross
and parking for Wingerworth is

Smithy Pond Pub Car park, Nethermoor Road Wingerworth

Both are in Derbyshire


Day tickets are £2.50 on the Bank
there are no boilies allowed and carp over 6lb are not allowed in keepnets there is NO cull of any fish caught
At Clay Cross groundbait is limited to 5kg (pellet is classed as groundbait)


Lots of Big carp and Chub at Clay Cross

and a large head of Bream at Wingerworth including Nase which was stocked a couple of years ago

Extra Water added

Clay Cross Angling Association has added a new water to it's list

This is the Wingerworth Lodge Pond
A small lake that used to be part of Wingerworth Manor and it is near the Gate lodge (Lodge Pond)
It has a good head of Tench and Roach and also some decent Pike too

Can you get a yearly ticket for these waters?? If so do you know how much??

Cheers mate thanks for that.... Have you fished it yet?? Is it worth taking the tackle up there for a sesh? Also can u use keepnets??

Keep nets OK but no Carp over 6lb in them
had one session quite a while back still worth it on sweetcorn at present some nice carp coming out BUT they are starting to spawn so soon will stop feeding for a while then the Chub and Roach might get a look in as well as the Tench

Of to a little campsite puddle tomorrow near Swanwick so not going this weekend

Thanks for all the info... I went to mcgregors pond last saturday had a good start but the weather just got too hot and nothing was feeding. I might give both clay cross and the new wingerworth pond a bash... I like the idea of keepnets as i like to see what i have caught at the end of the day...

Have you been up to the lake at ringwood hall yet? Thats fishing well with some decent bream and carp in there
