Theres no need for fancy fishing equipment....!

Quite simply put, i see these poles for 2000£ in my local tackle shop, i think... WHAT!!?? Why should i pay all my money for something thats made of fibre glass or whatever the hell it is...

So I made this article some time back =)

PS: For those wondering i had a couple of decent perch and roach on the HM whip

I agree - you need only the basic stuff. ALTHOUGH IT DOES NEED TO BE GOOD QUAILITY!

Whats' wrong with starter kits? That's what begginers need to start!
My starting kit was from Shakespere so a good quality brand i could trust!

i boguth one!
i had a trout in my line and the rod snapped in half!
i had my rod up and everything!

Well i don't know why but it depends on how much the kit is worth. Mine was almost £40 and it was in between average and great. If that was a cheap kit you bought - it's probley why.

Tell you what I see when I look at the pic Luke mate, a stick with hardly any play in it and the potential to snap and leave a fish with line trailing mate ...

cheap or not

cheap gear depends on which bit of tackle your looking at rods have become bargains and its easy to buy good rods from £30-£50
reels are different matter okuma are the cheapest i would consider they are great for the price but in adverse conditions one froze solid overnight where as the shimanos didn't
line always buy best
same as hooks and all rig bits what generally goes for tackle is if its cheaper its normally heavier ie bivvies brolly chairs etc
