I don't have this rod but have used it in the past - and it is generraly a good, reliable peice of tackle - although in my opinion - it can be a bit less sturdy when bringing in the bigger fish. On the whole, though - 7/10. Why don't you get a whole starter kit? They can be picked up cheap from any tackle shop - with a rod, reel and possibly some extra bits and bobs.

That is around about the size your looking for. I'd personnaly say from my experience - a 10ft/3m telescopic rod would be great for far casts for those cod. That 14ft rod should also work good.
Daiwa are a very good make - so are Shakespere and Abu. Mabey try looking around their websites? A telescopic rod would probley be good, too. Shakespere have a very wide range of them so might be worth a look. ON THE WHOLE: I'm pretty sure you should get either a 10ft or 14ft rod from any good tackle supplier. Make sure the rod is sturdy and reliable. You may also be able to pick up a kit with the reel and some extra tackle, too. ![]() |
