Exclamation The Best Ways To Land Your Fish...

Hi guys. I have decided to add this thread to help people learn the best ways to land their fish.

The Trick Is:
Not to go over the top! Although getting a bite is very exiting - keep your calm! As the fish might just be nibbling - not actully hooked! And even if they are - you wll loosed them and never see them again if you get too exited.

The Simple Way:
The easiest and most commen form of landing, is the basic - as you'd expect - calmly sitting down - possibly standing up -leanding forward - bringing them in. But as you'll see in the areas below - there are other ways to land the fish - that will give you more chance of actully landing them.

Playing Them:
Try and tire the fish first. Not immidiatly bringing them in will allow them to get tired before hand. But remember to keep the tip of your rod up!

Striking:
This will ensure that the hook is firmly and securly wedged into the fish's mouth before trying to land it. To do this - sharply lift the tip of your rod upwards before reeling them in.

Pulling In The Slack:
This involes a bit of tireing and stricking and is i find - the best and most reliable way to sucsessfully land a fish. Pull the tip of the rod upwards or sidewards - but not as sharply as a full strike. Then bring it back in front of you, and whilst your doing so - reel in the slack. This will slowly bring the fish in but effectivly. When the fish is just a few meters away - just reel it in as normal - quickly but not too quickly.

I hope this information helps!
Tight Lines!

I find it bery helpfull to pull in the slack. I slways used to get to exited and loose the fish - but now - i've learned to keep my cool and leave the jumping around, pictures and exitment until i've landed and un-hooked them.
