Lightbulb 10 Tips To Becoming A Better Sea Fisher...

Hi guys, i have decided to post this thread - and give people my top 10 tips to become a top sea fisherman!

SO - HERE ARE MY TOP 10 TIPS:
1. - Make A Commitment: To first thing you need to do to become a top angler is the need and the want to do it and expand in the sport! Show concistancey and keep telling yourself how much you want to get better!
2. - Read, Read, Read Again And Some More: You won't expand your knowledge at all by sitting around in front of the box - and you won't expand it that much by sitting on a pier! This forum will help you, also! You need to get out there - reaserch and learn the best techniques in every aspect of fishing! Via books, the internet, this forum or freinds and family!
3. - Join A Club: If you know of a local fishing club - join it! If your an experienced angler, you'll have fun teaching the techniqes of fishing to the learners and vise versa!
4. - Keep Notes: Try to have a diary or fishing log - to keep the knowledge of your techniqes and the fish you've caught useing those techniques! So - whenever you have a bad days fishing - you'll look in that diary and see you holding a biggun' and it'll make you proud!
5. - Know Your Tackle: Not even the best fishing tackle in the world will be of any use to you if you don't know how to use it and what it's for! Like with tip number 2 - get out there and find out! You'll benifit from it!
6. - Learning New Skills: Never, ever give up! Your probley fed up of hearing that - but if you, say - can't do knots - you won't learn to do so by sitting there and moaning about it! Take your time - and progress - with everyting!
7. - Know The Baits: Bait is probley one of the most important aspects of fishing. You'll need for you to know that you will need bait - lots of it - and a large varity, too! Don't just stick to the simple ragworm and the odd sand-eel here and there - use different and more complex baits such as squid - and perfect your knowledge of it!
8. - Specilise: Once you've learnt how to hook your simple baits or tie your simple knots - keep trying and perfect them again and again until you can be a top angler with these aspects just off the top of your head!
9. - Weather And Timeing: Good anglers talk about where and when first of all. Know your top spots! Know the tide tides! Check the weather forcast!
10. - Travel: Don't just stick to your area - travel around the UK or even worldwide gathering information and knowledge of the different worldwide species and tactics!

This is my guide to becoming a top sea fisherman! What do you think?

Good luck and i hope this information helps!
Tight Lines!

I agree with the fisrt 2 - and yes - the 3rd one would come under safety but i don't know who on earth would be stupid enough to lick the sand on the beaches!
