Question Fishing in & around Lyme Regis

I am due to do a spot of night fishing from lyme Regis, and wondered if any locals could point me in the right direction. It would be gratefully appreciated

lyme regis, hi m8, its mainly clean ground & easy fishing from the harbour walls but the beach to the west of the cobb is extremely snaggy. odd patches of reef here and there around the bay towards charmouth to the east.

top 3 baits i'd choose are ragworm, sandeel or mackerel.

i dunno whats being caught there lately but night fishing should yeald pouting(lots of em) .
chance of bass and ray, there is a tackle shop in town i'm told .

might be worth a go but i can't remember if you'll have any depth of water at low tide.
as to squid /lug, i cant really say , got to be worth a go, i'd use this to target codling but further east on chesil .
squid good for bass /ray . lug for chance of sole if the pout don't get it 1st.

Spoken to my fishing buddy, & we've decided to go to Chesil, but I've heard it can be a bit dodgy there.
