Hi guys, decided to add this post to help beginners learn about their lures.
Why use lures when you can't identify which ones to use, what fish they can catch and how to use them etc. etc. Well if you need help with your lures, then read on! Types Of Lures: Wobbler's are a common form of lures used for sea fishing. They come in different shapes, sizes, and can have as many as 5 treble hooks - ouch! Whereas most lures are just shiny, polished metal blades, wobbler's are brightly colored fish-shaped lures, and can also sometimes be shiny. Blinkers are another form of popular lures. They are usually colorful metal on one side and shiny on the other. They are mostly long, flat and thin, have one treble hook one either side, and sometimes have a bend or a curve in the middle. Spinners are the most popular types sea fishing lures. This is mainly because they are good for catching bass. If you know what's the best way to use a spinner, you've nailed it! Spinners are usually just a simple textured blade of shiny, polished metal, and can come in many different sizes. Tails aren't used very much for sea fishing, but like all lures, come in very handy. Tails are basically curly rubber, well, tails! You can get single tails, double tails or triple tails, and they are usually bright colors such as orange, yellow or pink. Spoons are a bit like blinkers. They also have a bend in the middle, but they only have one hook. Some have scales imprinted on their shiny metal sides, that are also thin. Wedges are very common in Cornwall for catching bass. They are mainly made by dexter, and come in many different shapes and sizes, only they look a bit like a thin, bright parallelogram, and are really shiny and scaly on one side, and blank on the other. Softies are basically, soft fish. Like wobbler's, they are bright, fish-shaped lures, only they are soft. Some are supposed to impersonate bait, such as crab, sand-eel or worms. Plugs arn't ussaly used in Cornwall, but are still quite common in other areas. Plugs are mostly a bit like a 2 in 1 wobbler and spinner, they are shaped like a plastic fish at the bottom, with a top of polished metal. You can get 3 types of hooks for lures: single hooks, double hooks and treble hooks. It helps if these are barbed. You can also have multiple barbs on a hook. PLEASE VOTE ON THE POLL ABOVE! I hope that this information helps! Tight Lines! ![]()

Yes - with wobbler's especily, you cannot only get them in a whole, but also, say, in 2 or 3 sections to give them more movement in the water. Each of these sections would then probley have a double or a treble hook.
DAMN! I MISSED OUT PLUGS ON THE POLL ABOVE, DIDN'T I? OH WELL. PLUGS CAN BE CLASSED UNDER OTHER, NOW!
