In sweden (super) vibrax is considered the number one lure for fishing perch.

Here in Sweden we use live bait. I've spoken to ppl wha have never caught anything on dead bait. We usally use roach. But most coarse fish are also used (rudd, bleak, bream, tench was popular like 40years ago, perch, zope, bjoerkna and many more).

Some people think tha a dead fish is the better bait some think that a living one is better.

Small jiggs are also god for perch.

When fishing clear watter you can use many different thinks, when fishing murky waters it is better to use something smelly or noisy, a spinner, half a giant worm, a dead fish etc.

I've had great success on the Abu Garcia Reflex spinners! Always seem to tempt a perch on a trip out

perch

Hi, I am new to perch fishing ( catching them as a target ) having had them for the last 30 odd years by accident ,having had a 2.5lb a couple of years ago,
I have joined a new club `this year with perch in mind and they have some waters with no pike !!
one has a lot of crayfish that steal a lobworm even if its air injected. I have a couple of mepps spinners a size o and a size 3 black fury and ondex 4 in red,
yes I know I can float for them but would to try a spinner as they have been in the box for years and years (shiny ..shiny..!!)..any thoughts ..would a red signal crayfish work or would the others eat it.?????

The difference is YOU are killing the fish, with deadbaiting the fish is dead regardless whether you buy it or if Prince Carles buys it...

Cmon mate, the fish are gonna die regardless. If you kill them or let someone do it for you its the same thing.

Its like going to tescos and buying a frozen chicken and then complaining when someone goes out and shoots their own.

The use of livebaits give the Anti's ammunition to show how cruel Angling and Anglers are and that is attention we don't need
lots of mis-guided folk who think fish appear in rivers on their own and that the wildlife we support by just keeping waters clean would survive without us
or even those who think fish feel pain in the same way we do
