Deadbaiting for perch

hi, i'm not sure whether to try or not but i have a local small pond and might have a go at deadbaiting for perch and maybe odd pike as i do get them outa there.

pike are obviously a NUISANCE if your going after perch using dead bait. they will more than likely snap it up before the perch do unless theres a reallly high majority of perch which are able to take dead bait

Just deadbait with small fish then you have a chance of both !! you might be well happy with on of each.

yeah id be overjoyed with a pike as there are 13 pike in there biggest of 14lb and its not a big pond and there are alot off eel and big perch too so i have an okay chance of getting sumats. and what sorta dead bait would perch like??????????

its just a fatc that perch like smaller perch, no theory in it really. like pike would go for thewir own species aswell. why do you think you have lures with perch stripes on them?

spose, do i put it on the trace the same as normal with pike baits wil perch eat head first?

always use a trace when dead baiting jus incase a pike does take you! 9 times out of 10 pike will snap the line if theres no trace

Always use trace if pike are present, baits that work are, small, roach, rudd, gudgeon, minnow, perch. Dont use saltwater deadbaits.
