Smile perch

i dont know if is me or not but i am finding perch very very scarce lately ...i live in sussex & i fish about twice a week & i have only caught about 4 perch this year on many different waters??????
maybe its just me getting too old lol

Plenty near me, infact to many, do you fish specifically for perch? good time of year for them now.

i find that perch catch well on a size 14 hook and too small worms and snip the ends off the worms to let them usse flavour and the little devils can't resist but this year they been a pest cause i fish for other fish and there always there to steal it!! hope this helps

Plenty of big Perch on the Bure in Norfolk, thats if the salt tides aint kill a few !!..If you are trying to target Perch, a small livebait Perch is the only bait to use in my mind, just lip hooked as they eat there own more often than not, ok you need a trace wire maybe about 15lb-20lb just for the pike hitting the bait first..

do perch really eat there own kind i always use a small roach deadbait or livebait.. but then again i let a keepnet full of perch go and two minutes later there was two pike sitting there with perch in the mouths and all other perch nowhere to be seen

Yes mate thay do, Its the only way in my view to target bigger Perch "1lb plus fish", i have had Perch over 3lb plus using this method, you have to fish very low resistance mind ! ie;fish smaller floats than pike fishing and single hooks not trebles also its best to fish with the bale arm open so no tension comes from the spool..
