Feeder or Carp Rod

I'm trying Pike Fishing when i go to Ireland this year, ive never done it before and i cant really afford to buy a proper pike rod, so can i use my feeder or carp rod to do it ?

I use carp rods , 2.5lb test. Perfect for short range pike fishing on still waters

Yes a carp rod with 2.5tc should be fine....i hope your going to have someone with you that knows how to handle pike if not i would think twice about it....if any fish needs to be handled with care they do

i use my carp rod, and i agree with everyone here, especially handle them with care, get an unhooking mat, have someone that knows about pike with you, and get some forceps! and also, i know this sound obvious but just to make sure, USE A WIRE TRACE! hope this helps

I use a 2.75 carp rod for both lures and baiting, never had a problem. A good set of disgorging pliers is the most important piece of kit for piking imho
