Cool Perch Recovery

Hey guys, caught my first perch today thanks to the tips here it was a small enough one, but hungry, because he swallowed my hook pretty deep, it took me a while to get him unhooked, and when i was putting him back he took a long time to recover, he wasn't dead, but he wouldn't swim away either, ended up putting him into weeds and hoped he'd soon recover any tips on what i can do to help fish???

The quickest and simplest way to do it is to cut the line as short as possible

Perch quickly get rid of deep hooks but seldom recover from being unhooked after deep hooking

Hi CAVANMAN...glad you caught your Perch but as GRAY says if a fish is deep hooked cut the line as close to the hook as possible and put the fish back they will normally get rid of the hook themselves....the problem with fish is the hearts are close to the back of the mouth and in trying to get a hook out it will damage the heart and internal organs leading to death far better just to leave the hook in and put the fish back
