Most of my pike have come thru the the ice.... but in the spring we look in the shallows , they like the warm water ,weed edges and drop offs is where we find most of our big pike

Pike prefer winter from any other time and that tells you the cold water so in sunny days they will stay in the colder water and only come out of it if they are hungry,,,,,just find the silver fish on the water and you will find pike near by i dont think the weather really plays that much of a part in Pike fishing but on the water i fish i have noticed the pike come in to the margins in dull over cast conditions but very few in sunny...it could be down to venue i guess but my bet would be on a overcast day for pike with a cold snap on the weather

I've found that Pike can be caught in most weathers where I fish.

I prefer cooler days as it seems the Pike are more active then.

I agree with you mate, and IMHO I catch more Pike when there is an-over cast in the weather.

Jimmy.
