catching a biggy

i fish regularly at my local river, below and aabove the weir. i fish live baits, deadbaits and lures with average success. i only ever seem to get maximum 8 pound pike and would like to catch my first double figured pike.

i ahve used a variety of baits ina variety of swims however speaking to other anglers who have fished the same swims they seem to have a better catch rate, bigger fish to....with the photos to back it up.

please help as by the end of the year i would like to catch my first double from that river

any reply would be appreciated

First of all
have patience
work out which baits get the bigger fish you catch
and from where
Find out where the others caught their larger fish
then work out if they were using a larger bait or different bait addatives to you
You may find all it takes is a different bait or it may just take time
Just enjoy each fish for itself and remeber that returning an 8lb alive and kicking this year will lead to a 10lb next year
