random pike catch

heres a bit random catch a 2pound ish pike on a guess what ....... red maggot

has anyone else caught pike on unusual baits

Pike eat anything and it's fairly common for little jacks to take maggots I've had them to about 4lb on maggot

me and my friend had 2 pike at the same time while carp fshing on fusion boilies one was 8lb and one 7lb also had a 2lb on maggots

Yer once i cast in a boilie, on the way down a zander took it, my line kept spinning off. Struck into it , and i had a zander!? Anything brightly coloured moving fast through the water i guess.

iv had one or 2 reali small pike on maggot, nothing big.

I read in a book about a person who caought a 10kilo pike while fishing for roach in a competition with a 0.15line and a TAP-pole. It said that it took him 20minutes to land it and he won by about 10kilos. The book stated that these thing happen from time to time and the fisherman has to make a choice. To fight the fish for a long time after wich the fish might bite the line of anyways and the time was compleatly lost or just cut the line to save time.

Have you ever heard of anything similar?


(I don't really belive that story, the same book stated that a fisherman droped a fly while trying to tie it to the line and then tied anootheroneon after his first cast when bringing the fly back in it hooked the other one on the bottom in the loop-thing, and that a guy lost a fish that broke the line and he then caught it l8er and kept the fly his friend lost, twice in one week!!! same 2 ppl)

Me and a friend were fishing the Vernats drain in spalding and we had a fairly big pike on a whip on red maggot

i had a 5lb pike in a weir pool i was feeding bread for chub and the pike kept taking the bread i put some of my striptease carp braid and doubled it up

Well check this, My fried caught a 20ld carp on red maggiot and on 4 pound breaking line!!!!! took an hour to get it in tho Out of the canal as well
