new personal best

went out on my first "proper" pike fishing day today. had a very early 5am start but was soon into my first and personal best pike of 11lb 12 oz then about 45 mins later smashed my new pb with a mint 22lb pike then followed by a 11lb then a 5lb and a 6lb 7oz rainbow trout (i was fishing at chew a massive trout fishery in somerset) so i was well pleased with that.

any one else had any luck this weekend?

Well done sjmikey on two Pb's in a trip top fishing and a mint 22lber to boot...i have a day on Chew next winter, its ment to be a amazing place, was watching Mick Brown and Matt on Sky last night infact flyfishing at Chew for the pike...i'm gagging at the bit............ I am out next Sat on the lovely Norfolk broads.......

best of luck for next year mate i was fishing on wallys bank about 50-60 yards out with sprat and joey well worth a go. the biggest that came out on the bank was 36lbs so there is some real big uns in there.

Yes mate i have looked into it a little,all the different areas are named aint they....and some big girls in there for sure, what baits are allowed then Mike?...flyfishing for them is ok and any types of lures but what deadbaits...........whats the deepest area on the place?...

we were fishing in the deepest channel at about 40 foot using sprat and joey but if your going with lures i would go out on a boat the biggest came out on a boat at 35 lb but if you want a boat i would book it now cos theres always a massive waiting list for em. not sure about fly fishing for em but there is always someone there in the lodge.

Looks like you had a real RED letter day.
I caught my PB Pike in a club match 171/2LB BUT I got disqualified for fishing two rods. Well I was bored senseless fishing the one rod so i thought I would have a spin as well to keep warm. OOPS!
