Whips ?? Help

So i got new whips and i assumed they were the same as poles but alas on the end of the whip there is a stainless steel ring any tips on how i go about attaching main line surely not just a knot is it ?????

i think if its a loop end on your rig then place loop through the eye of stainless steel ring &thread the hook through the loop
it does work but the correct way also would be to tie it on as you do a hook to the ring

That's right for a silver fish whip the alternative is to chop some of the whip off and elasticate it

Madcaravanner, but it would not be a whip then.
Whips are for whipping out tiddlers at speed, hence the name.
Elasticated pole for catching proper sized fish that can swim about a bit.

own a 4m whip which is tele and clses up to about 40cm it's top section is elasticated so..............................

i also own a 4 meter whip with 3 diffrent tops, one a flick tip, one fitted with a 8 - 10s elastic and one fitted with a 16 - 18 elastic its telescopic and its whip.

You could elasticated the top section but it's really only for Silver Fish at that length so wouldn't take really big elastics

Ask at your local tackle shop if they can do them for you

stop fighting

madcarravanner has a point,elasticating a whip makes it more versitile if youre in doubt about how to elasticate it look
