Groundbait - PLEASE LOOK

i am going fishing today and i was wonderin what bait i should use, does anyone have any of those baitsthat you wouldnt dream of using ? My fishing isnt going too well, the past 4 or 5 timesive been ihavent caught anything at all - not even a bite !!

So does anyone have any tips or anything that i could use ?

Baits are a large subject you alter them depending on target species, venue, time of year and method being used. A good bait for catching fish is maggots, they will catch you everything. Corn and casters are also worth a try. If you are catching nothing it may not just be down to bait, are you feeding your swim correctly? are you using the right method?

i tried AGAIN and stillfailed

going through a fishing hell atm


I tried :

Corn
Maggots
Groundbait
Cat Food
Dog biscuits
Boilies
Hemp


Everything i can think of and still ..... nothing


i must be doing something wrong


And to top it all off , my line snapped and so did my hook, it rained and my umbrella leaked


I need all the help i can get, i thought i was ok atfishing but obviously not.



Im gonna try again tomorrow hopefully

Chances are its not Bait, Could be method, What species you after? what method have you been doing? whats the venue lake river? Detail details

What species are you after or just any fish??

Is the lake / river one where you have to feed to get fish or is it one where it's little and often

Do mixing the groundbaits up with particles put the fish off or do they attract too many small fish and they stop the big ones getting to the bait OR do the Pike home in on the ground bait in chance of an easy meal scaring everything else off

an example of tactics and how I fish

My son and I fished a lake near us target fish = Carp

when we got there we looked for at least 20 minutes
at wind direction
cloud cover /sunshine
where the fish were (there are sometimes places where you can see through 4 feet of water there)
We worked out travel of the sun over the water and it's effect on visibility of our baits

We then decided our tactics and a back up plan then set up about 3 pegs away from another angler who was fishing for carp

We decided to fish one rod on top and one on the bottom initially baits were bread crust and corn
After 10 minutes we had caught our first fish on the top



and had reeled in the bottom rigs

the guy fishing nearby was watching us but carried on fishing method all day and blanked
whilst us

at last, we were about to pack up and i got a 3lb common carp

My fishing hell is over



Apart from my reel bust , i cant cast anymore,i dropped my bank stick in the water - oh well cant ask for everything
