Try holding it over a steaming kettle, about 6" below the joint, so the bottom section expands and the top section stays the same size!

just be patient and it will work trust me.

Ive had the same problem alot of times.
WD40 will work on some rods but not on others it depends on the lacquers used by the manufacturer, i keep WD40 away from all my fishing equipment as the name itself means water dispersant 40 days so after 40 days you have a water attractor, i use silicone based lubricant on all my fishing reels as well as using it to free my poles and telescopios. I do have one pole this has not worked on but it has freed two others as well as my friends.

Try Silicone Based Lubricants.

Well no - i don't think it's as he dosn't use it propley. But sometimes when i go fishing on the beach, whenever i put my rod down to take the fish off the hook - even when it's on a towl - i come home with a load of sand in it!
