Rock fishing

Hey guys, I live close to a levee that has a lot of rocks on it's banks. Every time i go by it to fish I see a lot of fish jumping, so i know there are fish at the levee. I just don't know the best time of the year to fish off rocks, and the kinds of lures to use.
