Trout
Morning chaps,
Whilst i was younger, i was keen at fishing, but then i stopped because of my exams and getting a job. Im going to a place called Fontburn in Northumberland, which i belive holds the record trout for the UK. I will be float fishing whilst im there, so does any1 have any good variance of baits i could use, instead of just using a worm  Jamie |

Re: Trout
Im a Londoner but Im well travelled. I've float fished for trout in the lake district at a great little fishery called 'bessy bek'.
The first time I went, the fish were madly feeding on the surface and I managed to bag 14 in 3 1/2hours. I was steadily feeding dynamite carp ground bait, which is good because it has a trout pellet flavour. The second time I went, the fish were not feeding so readily. So I fished above a bed strawberry and ordinary corn. I also fed in the remains of some ground bait I had left. I still succeeded in catching three that day, one of which was a fair size. I know the trout were feeding on the bed because when they were gutted my various types of corn were found in their stomachs. But I say, if worm isnt working try a corn hook bait. But personally, I think a worm is still your best bet. |
