Angling Trust Cutting Jobs

Well it comes of no great surprise really that the Angling Trust is or has made some of it's staff redundant because of lack of money and that is because of lack of membership.
When the AT started up it was and still is a good thing that is there for ALL our benefits but like everything else they were not prepared for one little thing..the recession.....it has hit me hard this year and i am looking to save money all ways and that is the main problem.
I have read a report by the Angling Trust and it puts the blame firmly on US the Angler and to be honest i think it is out of order...they based there projected income on 4 million Anglers and they were never going to get that kind of membership, one million would be a great achievement but lets face it,i just wonder do they know there is a recession on and the kind of effect that has on people...it is one thing pointing a finger at US the Angler but lets get real on this and live with reality, untill this recession is over they will not get the membership they hope for.
I have not joined the AT because i can not afford to do so,£20 or so membership is a lot of money when your counting coppers

I totaly agree. We pay our license fee's and the environment agency should do everything required for the benefit of our sport. Why should there be a second optional subscription to do what we've already paid for
