Freespool mate, and you dont have to flick it back over, if you turn the handle it flicks itself back. Basically you have both a front and a rear drag. The rear drag is set low (this is the one the switch engages) so the fish can run. The front drag is the one you use when playing the fish. Any help in finding one i'll be more than willing to help you

I dont use reels that often because i pole fish so i don't really know the answer but all i can say is this.....Front drag is better than Rear drag but it is more difficult to use for the obvious reasons....the line comes off the spool and you have to adjust the drag from the front on the front drag reels so it is easy to get tangled up but with rear drag you have not got that problem because all the work is from the back of the reel.....you have to have the reel to suit the fish you are targeting if you are going after good size carp then a baitrunner reel would be your choice....on Rivers centrepin reels are the choice...these have no grag on them at all and allows you to trot the river with ease....sorry but thats the best i can do
