Talking Ireland Fishing

Hey all, I just joined up here as an amateur angler. I live in Ireland and there's nothing but rivers and lakes here Anyone here ever done much fishing in Ireland?

i haven't personally but i'm planning on going in the next couple years any advice on which areas / rivers to visit ?

well I live in County Cavan and there's 365 lakes in it alone Depends what you're fishing for. Plenty of good pike lakes in the northern half of the country the only problem is the weather

there's some good bream in the river beside me I've never fished for them though. Any tips on what ta do ta catch some?

well if its the same as over here, you use an open ended feeder with groundbait and "traditional" baits like corn, maggots, casters ect with worms for the hook just keep castin to the same spot every 5 minutes or so as accurately as you can to build up a bed of bait and away you go !

I'm off to Killeshandra in September fishing on Eonish Lake.
Its the next town on from Cavan isnt it ?

Cant wait, i went last year but diddnt have too much luck, but im determined this time and going to try a spot of Pike angling

Ah killeshandra is full of lakes, my dad is from there there's loads of towns all around cavan. Hope ya have some luck, i haven't fished there yet so can't tell ya any good places, but ask in the local tackle shop and they'd help ya out

haha i know, i went last year it was great
I cant remember what i said when i posted before so sorry if i say it twice!

Im staying in Eonish Lodge again, the lakes just at the doorstep
I'm gonna have a crack at pike fishing this year though never ever done it before so ill crap it if i get one
