hELLO MY NAME IS COLDTE AND AS YOU CAN TELL I AM A BIT OF A NOVICE AT POSTING , BUT AN AVID TRENT FISHERMAN AND WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ABOUT MY LAST TRIP, WHICH CULMINATED IN A MAGNIFICENT 14LB 13OZ BARBEL (PHOTOGRAPHED AND VERIFIED) AND ALSO MY FIRST RIVER CARP. Being a boat owner I make an annual pilgrimage down to the trent via Torksey Lock for on average 3-4 weeks holiday(thats what i tell the other half),indulging myself in never ending fishing sorties along the river as i go.
The barbel was one of several i caught along with chub /perch etc, the bait was luncheon meat about one inch cubeon a no.10 eye hook straight through to reel (bait runner) 8lb line and 12ft 1 1/2 lb feeder rod , and took 25 minutes to get to the net and was well worth the effort.
pictures are in the camera my daughter has borrowed so will display when (if) she returns from hols.
After that most things seemed a little insignificant until the carp a modest 71/2 lb but very powerful , from the area round the Kings marina(Newark) on the new platforms and again on luncheon meat.
Hope you enjoyed my ranting s

if it was grams it would get washed away, if it was lbs you would belong on a boat Its would be ounces mate

btw if you go coarse fishing you will need a license, but as your sea fishing you don't require one
