Beginer Rod!!

What is the best type of rods and floats and other equipment for canals for a begineer i have seen lots of equipment on decathlon website they have lots of equipment but what is best for me?

I would like to start fishing with floats so i would also like to know how to tie one.

also is coarse fishing for canals or match fishing?
