caught my first freshwater fish in 23 years :)

I cant believe i didnt start years ago. I know that sounds lame as , but I was really chuffed, it was approx 1 to 1 1/2 lb common carp.
I fished at yaddlethorpe ponds in scunthorpe.
really enjoyed it. only caught 1 though ?
maybe fluke, I was using size 8 hook. should I maybe have used a 12 or 14?
bait i used was sweetcorn.

I must say that I am looking forward to getting back out there. going to set myself some targets to achieve. what do you reckon the 1st target of a few course fish would be good.
