The Bailiffs we are referring to are the Environment Agency ones not the local association ones
Agree that some of them can be worse than traffic wardens

BTW
EVERY angler is allowed to ask another angler to see his licence and you are not supposed to refuse to show it either
Apparently you can call the EA and let them know if someone does -- not done it myself but seen it happen and the Police turn up too

when i first started fishing must of been a good couple of years before i had my licence checked, and that was 250 miles away from where i live lol always get a years one now as it's cheaper and easier than buying a day licence

i buy a licence evry year & i have been fishing for about 25 years & not once have i ever been asked to show my licence
but i do realise that the money goes to a sport i enjoy so i do not have a problem with it

i always buy licences but why the hell do bailiffs never ask me to see it.

out of 8 or 9 years coarse fishing ive only been asked a few times

They do around here there were18 in court in Derby in February average fine £2000 all had tackle confiscated permanently

i have only been checked 3 times in 15+ years, and it was on consecutive weeks? how weirds that. at 3 diffrent locations by the same guy, mines now on a direct debit so i never forget to pay

Same here in 25 years of getting a full licence never been asked to show it .all the local baliffs are concered about is there money and can i check to see if your useing the fisherys own bait but thats a new one over the last two years. Lol like they aint makeing enough money as it is .

yeah, had some bailiff walk up to me ''OI, ARE YOU USING THE FISHERIES OWN BAIT, NO IM NOT IM USING MY OWN MIXED BAIT WAT YA GUNNA DO, PTTF'' and walks off, wat an idiot, honestly, i felt like giving that guy a smack, just the way he walked up to me and gave me that evil look with his eyes all screwed up, i was about to but then soon got stopped by my girlfriend, ahh, welll i dunno, WE NEED MORE HAPPY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

The license obviously goes to the EA not the local fisheries owner
the local bailiffs who collect your peg fees are controlled by the club or waters owner where you fish

IF they are being obnoxious then there are 2 ways of handling it
1/ tell the people who employ them as a WRITTEN complaint
2/ belt him then get done by the Police for it

Option 1 has more chance of getting results option 2 gets you banned from fishing the water
