hi rod found help required :)

hi i found a rod and was wondering what it is primarily used for(type of fishing)

here is the info on the rod shakespeare gls spin 300 length 3m casting weight 20-40gm

I think its one of the shakespeare spinning general purpose rods for sea or predator It will cast rigs/lures upto 40 gms.

so for predators like pike etc? would it be a suitable carp rod? like 20lb carp?

Basically as an emercengy rod yes but as a proper Carp Rod no

Carp Rods bend differently to Pike rods and are softer than spin rods what you want ofr Carp is something with a test curve of around 2-2 1/2 pound and around 11 foot long

You can get a cheap one around £19.99 if you look around
