Advice on Fly Fishing???

I'm 14 and have been thinking of converting to fly fishing and wanting to know the basics!!! I have been bait fishing for quite some time but am wanting to convert to the "ways of the fly" so to speak. Wanting to know what the best type of reel and fly's are for trout/salmon and maybe chub or pike. I was given a fly rod a while back to get me started and it turned out that I could just use it for bait so that's what I've been doing but now I want to "tackle" some big fish and I just wanted to know the basics to get me started so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Find someone who fly fishes and watch them even better get a couple of lessons

Fly fishing is an art it's how you cast , tie the fly, what fly you use
it's very complex

BUT

get it right and you end up witha 4lb'er plus fighting on the end of that little whippy rod it can make you sweat more than any big carp especially when your in the middle of a bush up to your waist in water
and end up with one of these
