Hi guys,
first of all, hello to all! Just joined the forum.

The worst day for my fishing is when I took a 3 hour train ride to fish a small river. The rod (which was attached to my bicycle) tip caught the train door as I was getting out from the train!

So, missing about 6 inches of the tip I still went through the fishing, difficult to cast.

At Packington in a very stiff wind quite a few years ago, I threw a tailing loop which caused one of my flies to hit my 7 weight rod on the way through. Thought everything was OK at first, then I discovered that the middle of the top half had shattered.

Oh well - out came the big guns - my 9 weight. Had to pull hard to throw the back cast back into the wind - so much so that the rod broke clean at the top of the handle.

Sat there having a "Hamlet moment" before gathering myself. I stripped off a load of line and put the reel in my pocket, and continued fishing by holding the remains of the 9 weight at the bottom of the blank. Caught three nice fish!!

VERY expensive fish, mind.

there were no bad days, all good

either walking up n down the banks of the test or farting about on a small still water after work, frustrateing when there's no rise or sign of fish but the chase is better than the catch
