There is no REAL cheap way to start fly fishing as you really do need to have someone teach you how to cast a fly
It's not easy and it takes lots of practice when you're not fishing it regularly find a starter kit that covers the weight of line you need to use for the water you're fishing that will be the cheapest tackle but flies are something else Once you get teh knack tye your own definitiely cheaper but takes a lot more time

We do a shakespeare starter outfit that you can take out of the box and fish with!!!! Shakespeare Complete fly Fishing Kit 9ft/2.70m
If you have the budget i would say you should try and book asession with a casting instructor you would benefit massively from a session and learn more than just casting, your rod and line set up comes down to where and what you are going to fish for, rivers tend to be smaller rods with lighter lines ,commercials use slightly heavier rods and lines and boats are the longest rods with the heaviest lines. Have a look around you can get some great advice on the net for fly fishing good luck hope you catch a few its my favourite way to spend the day. |
