algarve portugal

anybody ever fished over there ?

i am planning on going on holiday there next year and hope to be taking some fishing tackle hopefully i will get some harbour fishing in and hopefully some course fishing too

Not been to Portugal ....yet

Harbour fishing can be quite good or VERY frustrating
usual method I use in France and Spain is float fishing using bread as bait although sometimes little Ragworm work better

Get your kit packed and have a bash

i have thrown in bread and fished with white polystyrene in spain for mullet the biggers ones seemed to be able to suck the bread right off the hook so polystrene seemed to hook more of the slightly bigger ones

i also caught some stripey fish and some weird looking red things covered in spines that looked similar to gurnard but dunno what species they where lol

Hmm you've just give me an idea
What if I post some piccies of different species to help folk identify strange foreign fish


Will find a few and start an new thread OR Better still I will ad a new sub album to my Photobucket site and put them there to save bandwidth here

in the past when i have been on holiday and visiting family in other countrys i have got lots of different species not knowing what they are called or anything much about them at all

its a good job non have been poisonous or had hidden barbs or anything

You have been lucky there but not that many fish are poisonous just the ones that are are usually very poisonous
