Fishing in Agde France
I have been fishing for 40 Years all over the world and now I am in the fortunate position of living on a house boat on the canal du midi at Agde in the south of France one of the most diverse places I have fished in.
There is everything from Bream bashing to big game fishing. In my favorite swim off the boat I have got Carp, Eel, Tench, Rudd, Mullet, Pike, Black bass, Catfish and shed loads of Bream with a local fishes as well like Le Carassin and La Perche Soleil this one looks like it should come out of an exotic tank. Agde is on the Medaterranean coast so there is sea fishing on the doorstep. Lots of good shore fishing and boat fishing trips give plenty of sport and dinner. Game fishing can also be had a few miles in land there are Lakes and streams with wild brown trout. It has been a good year I have mostly been carp fishing in the canal and the river Herault. we have had plenty of carp but nothing massive yet, October is normally a good month so fingers crossed Also sea fishing from the breakwater at the Grau d' Agde. Where its great fun to spin for Garpike, I tend to use leadgred ragworm on flowing traces for Gilt head bream and flat fish. This winters prodject is to learn to tye flys as have re took up fly fishing for Rudd ect but that's another post. ![]() ![]() ![]()
