Every Department in France charges differently
and some lakes are privately owned and if enclosed don't need one the lake at La Reserve is an open (public) water Fishing permits (Day ticket equivalent) for public waters can be obtained from local newsagents, tabac or bars Usually will cover all local areas and cost around 3-7 Euros per day - 30 Euros for 2 weeks (excludes Trout and Salmon). then there's the main licence which you buy for whatyou are fishing for if you are fishing for Carp only you should say -- "Une carte de pech pour la carpe uniquement" This makes it clear that you are fishing purely for Carp. Don't forget to take a passport size photo as you may need one for the permis tell that you have no intention of fishing for pike, zander and perch, and you don't intend using live or deadbaits. Make it clear, too that you do not want to fish for salmon or trout. If you don't , your ticket will end up with a lot of coloured stamps that are unnecessary and it will end up costing you a fortune The permit will be valid throughout the department where you purchase it. You can purchase 15 day licenses (carte de vacances) which are cheaper than an annual licence. Confused ?? It can be quite frustrating getting legal in France and Spains worse you even need a licence for SEA FISHING ![]()
