To be honest I didn't fish in 2004 when we went simply because where we were there was sod all to fish for
no boats to take you out and a great indifference from the reps (even the Canadian) ones to find anything

Hope you have better luck

I intend to fish from the shore.so the beach, rocks, piers, anything that looks like you can cast a bait out. Are you allowed to fish in the sea from anywhere you can get to? or is it forbidden? I know there are fish there because apparantly you can feed fish in the sea they come right up to the shore and feed out your hands, but am i going to be fishing illegally? if i do get to a spot thats fishable. Please help if anyone knows. thanks.

Hi paul, about ten years ago I went to Sosua which is nearby to Playa Dorada. I saw plenty of people beach fishing but mainly in the evening when its was empty and all the jetskis were gone. The hotel I stayed at even hired out rods but I didnt have a bash. I went snorkeling and the sea was chocka with fish, even came face to face withe a small baracuda only yards off the beach.

Hope this helps.
