Pillaton Hall Farm (Penkridge)
Pillaton Hall Farm boasts four well stocked fishing pools. Pillaton Pools were built by the Pearce family in the late 1990s and have been regularly stocked with good quality fish, sourced from some of the oldest lakes in the UK.
Pillaton Hall Farm Pillaton Penkridge Staffordshire ST19 5RZ Tel: 01785 715177 E-mail: info@pillatonpools.co.uk The site consists of four pools all stocked with a variety of species ranging from 1 inch skimmer bream to 20lb monster carp. All the pools are open 365 days of the year. Pools offer disabled pegs and good access around pools 1, 2 and 3. Pool 4 is about a 5 minute walk from the car park near pool 2. (Please note all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for their own safety.) Fishing Fees 5.00 GBP Per person per day 4.00 GBP O.A.P. & Juniors per day 3.00 GBP Evening ticket (after 4.0pm) Pool 1. was originally built in 1960 as a water holding reservoir for Pillaton Hall Farm and has a stream feeding it from the furthest end of the pool and an over flow nearest the car park. The pool has a pump house and bore hole feeding it, which in summer is used to also feed all the other pools and aerate the water during hot periods. The pool is a shallow 3ft at the furthest end from the car park but drops to between 10 and 15ft closer at the car park end. Pool 2. is the largest pool on the site but it is also the most open to the elements. On a windy and cold day you will need some warm clothes. The pool is situated at the far end of the site with an island in the middle of it, making it an ideal pool on which to use a feeder. Around the margins waters are shallow running from a 1ft gradually falling away 9 or 10 ft around the island. This pool is a safer option for children as the margins are shallower than the others. 25 pegs Pool 3. The smallest pool on the site is Pool 3 which is used as a stock pool. However, Pool 3 also has a good range of larger fish and is the only pool at present, to hold ghost carp. The deepest point is in the centre at 6ft with about 3ft around its margins. Pool 3 is a nice pool on hot days as you have some tree cover on one side. 6 pegs Pool 4. If you fancy a quiet afternoons fishing and you don't mind a 5 minute walk, then park on Pool 2's car park and follow the signs for Pool 4. This pool is only 4 years old but has come on extremely well. Since it's a little further from the car park it gets fished less often and the fish are in fantastic condition. The end closest to the gate has a sunken island 2 ft below the surface dropping around the sides of the island to about 8ft, which is the average depth of the pool . 20 pegs Rules & Bait Bans No keep nets Barbless hooks must be used at all times No radios or music by pool side No parking by pools No dogs around fishing pools No braid line to be used No litter or line to be left around or on the pegs Under 16s must be supervised No night fishing No hemp or peanuts to be used Every one fishing must have a landing net, sharing is not permitted No stalking fish please pick a peg and stick to it
