Tench are quite slow feeding once the water temperature drops (like Carp) personally I would wait until spring

There was a 7lb tench caught in a match yesterday on one of my local waters, BUT.
Any tench you get at this time of year is down largely to luck. IMO its just not something you can realy plan for.
Wrong time of year.
