Surprise Tench

G"day guys, firstly hello to everyone on here I am brand new to this forum, so looking forward to viewing it.
I am from Australia, and believe it or not we have some top coarse fishermen over here, mainly expats from the UK .
And we also have some nice fish as well, and one being the Tench, they were originally introduced in the 1870s and they are in quite a few waterways, not stocked waterways, but they are wild fish and mainly are found in slow flowing rivers.
It has been an ambition to get one and about 3 weeks ago that ambition was fulfilled , when just on dark luck shined on me and after a very strong fight, a 6.6lb beauty was in the net.
Here is my mate holding it for a pic , have some more pics if anyone is interested.
Cheers
