The oldway, although everything has its uses, i do fish with alarms for alot of specimen work, although i always fish the waggler when i can get away with it. Carnt beat the good old lift method.

i love the olden styles, although i do use bite alarms when fishing for barbel on the trent, as you may know my favoured method is on the pole with hemp and corn, unbeatable! also been around for yonks!

i do agree by saying that bite alarms are a lazy way of fishing which is why i hvent really targeted barbel lately as i often get bored waiting! dont think ill be getting one out for a bit of a time now . . .

Bite alarms have their place as do all other types of fishing

it's the rod tip bell in sea fishing that makes me smile

with a rod i find


new and old love to float fish but also like to use my alarm's

ive seen a bloke on the pool i fish with old rod no float or weight
catching more than most of the blokes who brought the kitchen sink with them.
