Newbie-Silver Surfer River Trent Rantings

Hi everyone My first post,My handle is coldteNd i have just returned from my annual pilgrimage (Holiday i tell the wife) on the trent in my boat.Usaully attempt to get to Nottingham but tend to get waylaid by fishing sortiesand have only managed to get there once in eight years. Anyway I wish to report my biggest barbel todate weighing in at 14lb 13ozs (photographed and verified) caught on luncheon meat an 8 lb line straight through to a size 10 hook using a 1 1/2 lb feeder rod and baitrunner caught at bottom of weir at Cromwell mid afternoon,and took over twenty minutes to land but well worth it.
I aso caught my first river carp at a respectfull 7 1/2 lbs in Newark on the new platforms outside Kings Marina again on luncheon meat.Caught several Large eels and chubas well as several smaller barbel so altogether a splendid Holiday.

Sounds like you had a good time,i would love to see that photo of the Barbel sounds a cracking fish,well done on the catch and first report keep them coming
