We need more women to go fishing!!

I was down at my local pond on sunday and it was packed with guys fishing, half way through the day I noticed there was a lady fishing 2 pegs away from me. Then another couple came down and at first she didn't look bothered about being there. 10 minutes later she caught a nice sized common carp :| she then went on to catch many more fish on her starter rod but was getting into the swing of things. As far as I am concerned we need more women to go fishing as they are just as good as us guys. Come on guys admit it they are just as good. I would love to see more women fishing on our local lakes and rivers. We need to get more women interesated in this hobbie.

Could not agree more on this point,my wife fishes and she can catch just the same as i can and i can not see why they should not compete with us on a level playing field in this sport of ours.
Fishing has been for decades male dominated and still is but don't for one minute think we are the best, the only reason there are not many open matches that allow Women Anglers to fish alongside male is because some men would feel so stupid being beat by a woman,my wife out fishes me a lot but i am proud of her to do so, why? well i teached her everything she knows now she can fish better than me
Dont let Egos get in the way of progress lets face it we need a little talent on the banks

I would love to see an advert for a fishing compatition one day where its men vs. women match or just a mixed compatition It would be the best match ever. If women can play football and go boxing then I can't see why women can't get out on the lakes. Everyone thinks fishing is for men and It's been like that for years and years but I would love to change the way things are and get loads of women to meet up and sort something out and get out on those lakes with the rest of us.

The Woman was banned on the grounds of bringing the venues good name into disrepute by going to the police with her complaint but they have done more harm to there venue than she will ever do by banning her on these grounds.
The man(if that's what you call him)was out of order to react in the way he did over what was a accident in line crossing at a very busy venue, these things happen and if this idiot reacts in this way he should think about hanging his rod up before he does even more damage to our sport, sexism and bigots are not needed in our sport and the time for these idiots to remember that is now,get a life and treat everyone with the respect they deserve.

I totaly agree with you on that point. Hovever many women go fishing there is always going to be some sort of conflict between the both sexes and It will never stop. It shouldn't be this way and half of the time it's through jellousy, women being better than men and also the other way around.
I would love to arange a day for just women to come along to my local lake and have a few people teaching certain things and lessons on casting and rig tying. I think a few of us should sort something out lol.

My lad is 14 and he never wants to go fishing, he's more interested in playing computer games, but my girl is 12 and she always comes fishing with me, she loves it and she not bad at it either.
We should try to get more girls fishing.
