Bodied Up/bodied Down

I was asked this question a wile ago and it is one that keeps being asked by people taking up pole fishing that is....what are Bodied up and Bodied down floats and what if any difference do they make, well they do make a lot of difference in your presentation of your bait.

Bodied down floats are used for stillwater fishing wile Bodied up floats are used for rivers/moving water.

Bodied down floats are used on stillwaters because they offer better stability.
Bodied up floats are for Rivers or moving water and again offer better stability in moving water.
There are other floats but to go into them all would take all day and yes you can use these floats visa versa it is just a guide line really but over all that answers the question about Bodied up/down
