Hi CAVANMAN......Bream are bottom feeders so you need to fish dead depth or over to have a good chance and laying down a good carpet of bait is important as well when Bream fishing.....Bream will feed on almost anything from sweetcorn.maggots.worms they will feed on any of these baits but one bait i have found that works well is Luncheon Meat in small cubes.....feeder fishing is the method when Bream fishing and lots of casting to build up your swim unless you have a spod/rocket that you can use to get your feed out in bulk and being accurate is also important what you aim to do is get the bream feeding in a small area as possible with your hook bait in it......they like feeding on Gravel areas or open rather than weed so finding these areas are important thats why Gravel pits are good Bream venues or you will find them over Gravel or small stone areas on Rivers.....feeder rod is what you need and feeder of your choice, use your line clip on your reel if you have one to get the accuracy you need and cast out every five minuets or so to get your swim going then cut down on the casting time to about once every 15 minuets ho and make sure there are Bream in there to start with

OK CAVANMAN....lets start with the depth and plumbing up, because the best way to target Bream is with a feeder or even a ledger then there is no need to do this as you will be fishing on the bottom,Bream feed away from the banks most of the time so the target area is mainly in the middle of the pool/lake.....remember there are more than one type of Bream silver, skimmer and bronze are the main and the biggest is the bronze that can go well into double but finding these is like finding gold so with that in mind i would go with a line strength of no more than 6lb.
A lot depends on the bait you use in terms of feeder you use, with Meat, chopped worm it is the open ended feeder/cage feeder you use but if using Maggots(live)then a block end feeder is the one...Worms are a good Bream bait because that is what they will feed on normally or be it slightly different but it is the best bait for Bream in my book and if that is what you are going to use then a size 10/12 hook will be needed....although i have said keep the bait tight sometimes it might pay to feed up a bigger area but a lot depends on the size shoals of Bream there are on the water you are fishing.....Bream feed in shoals and will eat a lot of feed very quickly so getting them to search for your feed is a good ploy to use if there is a good head of Bream in the water but if the numbers are small then tighter feeding is better.
Weather conditions are not to important because you will be fishing in deep water mainly and on bottom....night fishing can produce good results but you must know what your doing in terms of getting the distance because accuracy is so important and at night you are casting blind so with that in mind i would say keep it to day time for now.
Particle baits are good for feeding up areas such as Hemp,Caster,Pellets anything like that will do fine just to feed up the area you choose so you see it can be a little expensive but for a good chance of catching Bream that is what is needed to get you started remember i have said Luncheon Meat is a good bait has well and i would use that in small cubes as feed has well as hook bait but if useing small cubes then a smaller hook is needed say a size 14/16 hook lengths should be around 12 inches and remember to use swivels in you set up to avoid line twists just attach a swivel to your main line then use a split link/clip to attach your feeder to this then your hook length to your feeder.
There are other ways that can be used but going into all of them would be of no use to you at this stage, just keeping it simple is the best way and thats what i have tried to do with my advice here.....if you are looking for Skimmer Bream or Silver then you can come close in for these but not tight to the margins and always keep your rig on the bottom...no plumbing up just feeder fishing is all you need do but a lot of bait is the key to Bream fishing...good luck

Hi CAVANMAN.....Well i have given you a good few to try already but Bream love Worm so it is more than a good point to use chopped Worm.....use some ground bait to stiffen the mix and use a cage feeder.....if you have some pellets then try and liquidize these and use them to add to the mix....fishmeal ground bait is good or standard bread crumb.....if you have a small spod then this will be a great thing to use to get a good bed of bait out quickly but if not then no problems just keep casting in the same area to build up the swim....it is your choice really because your aim is to get the Bream in and keep them there so a good mix of baits will be fine like sweetcorn and luncheon meat but try and keep to Worm on the hook

No Cavanman dont put additives into it as i have found that Bream turn off with some additives but fishing is funny and some venues the Bream feed well on additives added to ground bait/bread crumb.
All i would use/add is the chopped worm with sweetcorn,if you like you could add dead red maggots to the mix....the reason for dead red maggots is so they do not wriggle there way in to the silt....it takes a lot of bait for Bream and time as well in some cases but worms hook bait is the best bait to use.
Mix all your ingredients together and use a cage feeder and keep casting in that's all you need do but you need to do it regularly.....it is so important to keep the feed going in when Bream fishing to keep your swim with a lot of bait in it
