River Reports

Use this thread to post any catches or weather reports on rivers this season. I'm hoping this will help new anglers and the more experienced share ideas and findings which will hopefully benefit all
This includes both game and coarse angling so whether its Trout or Barbel please feel free to drop a post on how you've been getting on this season

After a poor first day on the River Severn, i'm told things are starting to pick up. The rivers low and clear at the moment so im thinking hemp and meat tomorow and posibly a second rod with the same or pellet and groundbait I'm pretty confident i'll get a couple takes tomorow night and ill be sure to let you all know how things go

i had a good morning out on the calder on tuesday.
i was on the bank for 5am
but didnt get any action untill about 7ish
when the rod tip swung round and what ever had taken the bait (maggot feeder) took about 5 seconds to snap me off .
it picked up after the first lost fish,
with a good mix of grayling and brownies ranging from a couple of ounces
to a good 3lb trout.
only problem was i didnt have a camera with me

all in all a good couple of hours.
roll on sunday when i can spent the whole day fishing.

just had another good morning on the calder.
long trotting and feeder fishing.
managed my pb trout of a touch over 5lb
and a few good grayling pushing 4lb.
18 fish in total from a four hour session.
it was running a bit high and had some colour in from the rain we had yesterday but fished fantastic.
iv heard that floating crust is a winner on this stretch so i might give that a go tomorrow morning.
although i am tempted to get the fly rod out for a change.
