just hook them like you would a maggot but tip it off with something to keep it on even a tiny peice of rubber
everything in the river apart from perch, pike and znder i doubt will take sweet corn although u may get more success on maggot? most things will take bread to |

I think what he means George is where on the worm and FWIW I always hook them through the mantle or what they call the Clitellum look at the website here Generalized Anatomy of an Earthworm - Picture - MSN Encarta

what he said ^^^^
apparently this is where a lot of fish aim for when chomping for the worm (according to some fishing show i saw recently) also when I've put the hook through the worm i like to hold the hook end between my fingers for about 10 seconds, this seems to calm the worm down slightly. But it may just be one of those 'confidence' tricks we all rely on. I've found I catch more on a worm when I slowly reel it in, attracting fish by the twisting motion of the worm. I've caught perch and trout this way on rivers. I've never really tried them on a canal though. I've always got nice big bream with sweetcorn, but little else. |

I was told to hook the worm about a 3rd of da way down the body from the head. And don't twist them and hook them 2 or 3 times, hook them once and let them dangle and wriggle in the water to attract fish
