well that was a disaster

me and the father in law had the usual fortnightly trip to the canal today
and its been the worst days fishing iv ever had.
not only did i not catch a single thing i lost
6 hooks
4 floats
2 plummets
snapped my pole elastic so i lost the whole rig
cracked the top section of my whip
oh yeah one of my reels is nackered as well
my father in law had an awesome day 26 fish in 4 hours

that has got to be the most expensive days fishing iv ever had

Look on the bright side

I went fishing in Llandudno - off the pier
I had been feathering and put my rod down for a rest and to watch a guy winch in a BIG doggie
next thing my whole setup was disappearing over the side into the night

Apparently at that time one of the local conger had a thing on Mackerel feathers and grabbed them -- my line was probably still in the water so it nicked off with the whole lot £110 rod £35 reel

a few hooks and weights is normal new top kit for pole £15

you'll soon realise fishing needs deep pockets some days

the thing with fishing is you will lose tackle and some of it is expensive and not easy to get when you are on a budget

my little incident was covered by my house insurance so I could replace my rod
but you always lose a hook or two and a shot or two so have to be calm about it and expect it
